e8urban recently participated in a design competition run by the NSW Department of Planning and the Environment.

The competition sought ideas from architects and designers for medium density housing typologies.

Our approach was to take a step back and question the framework for the delivery of new medium density housing, based on our view that the current development climate would always revert to flat buildings due to land economics.

We proposed the concept of Medium Density Master Plan areas close to key centres that could use the insertion of new housing typologies as a means of improving urban connectivity amenity and diversity.
